Newnan head coach Robert Herring would like nothing more to win his 300th career game this season, because that will mean that his Cougars will have gotten to the quarterfinal round of the Georgia high school playoffs. Friday night, Herring’s team improved to 9-0 with a 49-0 shutout of Mundy’s Mill, it was Herring’s 297th career win. Newnan is ranked #3 Class AAAAA and has the number one scoring defense along just over three points a game. Click here to read more about the Cougars.

Northside-Warner Robins may still be the best AAAA team in Georgia…problem is…the Eagles are now a AAAAA school. Friday night, Northside saw its season come to a close with a 28-20 loss to undefeated Camden County. The Eagles (#24 USA Today Super 25), who had won back-to-back AAAA titles, end the season with a 10-2 record with losses to the #1 (Lowndes) and #2 (Camden County) AAAAA teams in the state.
