#1 in Mississippi Beats #1 in Florida

September 20, 2008

By Jeff Fisher
The High School Football Huddle

At least for Friday night, bragging rights in the deep season go to the State of Mississippi.

South Panola (4-0), the #1 5A school in the state, extended it’s win streak to 79-games with a solid 28-18 win over Apopka (2-1), the #1 6A team in Florida before a national television audience on ESPNU.

South Panola junior running back Nicholas Parker didn’t mind the glare of the national spotlight, rushing for 242-yards and all four of the Tiger touchdowns.
